The Gang at Richard Nicoll

“Okayyyyyy let’s look around the room and try to find awkward people to talk to,” said Sybil at the cocktail party for Richard Nicoll.
In the end we both realized we were the awkwardest people in the room thus conversed amongst ourselves with jars (yes) of Cola and Sprite. I’m not going to get into details of the event because I’ve rounded up all the HK blog posts and you can read their individual experiences below. I missed the opportunity for a one-on-one interview and dress up event with Richard Nicoll due to a cold but fear not, HK bloggers got it covered!

The highlight was seriously meeting new people with interesting fashion backgrounds. Denise introduced me to Carmen of How I Met Your Style: a photographer hailing from the west coast who takes readers on a visual journey through bloggers’ homes and closets. Speaking of homes, we’re actually neighbors!

For those of you who like Business of Fashion (BOF) and are interested in Asia, I had the pleasure of meeting Daniel who is involved with a China-centric fashion site called Anywear Style (not yet up). He also runs a blog that I read every page concerning Chinese consumerism and fashion issues: Click here to see!.

Sybil and I also had a chance encounter with jewelry designer Marielle Byworth who we ended up sharing a taxi ride out to Central. She hails from Switzerland but lives in Hong Kong having moved from her former home in Japan. She does some beautifully organic jewelry under the label Marijoli.
Who knew cab carpooling could be so interesting.?
